First I bought the Case Mate Signature Series leather case to protect my Ipod Touch during use, then I purchased the Lowepro Volta 20 to protect during storage. With the Ipod Touch fitted into the Case-Mate, it fits perfectly into the Volta 20 (see link below). This is a great combination for using and storing your Ipod Touch. I would highly recommend both of these items, a great combination indeed. I use the Case-Mate Signature Series Leather Case with my 2nd Generation iPod touch. I like the case very much and it is attractive, nice leather and protects the iPod fairly well. However, less than a month after purchase the upper right hand corner (just above the Volume control) came partial unglued. It is a very small area (between the open top and the volume controls), but it should not have come apart so quickly. Note that the case includes a screen protector, which works fine. (I don't use it because I find the screen glass to be fairly durable and prefer the look and feel without the protector.) -- Nice case, but has a weak point...

When I bought my iPhone from the AT&T store they recommended this case (but for the iPhone, not the iPod touch). I thought it was a little pricey but I wanted to protect the phone so I bought it. I have used it for 4 months and love it.

So when my kids needed a case for their iPod Touch, I searched for Case-Mate hoping to find it. I was so happy to find it. I paid 24.68 and no shipping - well worth it.

Pros: It adds very little bulk to the iPod. The leather is not slippery and offers traction which not only keeps it from slipping out of your hand (like the hard plastic cases) but it also grips the phone inside so that you don't need a strap to keep the phone from sliding out. The case is rigid and firm like maybe there is a molded form that the leather is encasing and the iPod fits snuggly inside with no "wiggle room" at all. The leather offers cushioning without bulk so that if you drop the phone the impact isn't as severe as it would be either without a case or with a hard plastic or metal case. All buttons are easily accessible and the case doesn't interfere with the functioning of the iPod in any way.

Cons: You can plug a usb cord into the iPod just fine with the case on but I don't think you will be able to "dock" the iPod with other devices w/o taking it out of the case but I haven't found a case worth using that does. If it's thin enough to allow docking, it won't protect your iPod.

One last note, be sure to purchase screen protectors to protect the face of your iPod. It will scratch very easily otherwise. Screen protectors are much more user-friendly than cases that have screen protection built-in. I bought iKross 3-Pack Premium Reusable LCD Screen Protector here on Amazon. These were much easier to apply than the ones I got from the AT&T store with my iPhone. As with all screen protectors, the iPod must be completely free of even the smallest speck of dust before you apply or it will create a bubble. It's not that hard.

Bottom line, this case with a screen protector will keep your iPod safe and free of scratches for years to come. -- Love this case
