the leather on the inside of the cover rubs off on my kindle and there are brown spots ground into the kindle. It WILL wipe off but rather unsightly and dissapointing for how much i paid for it. -- Great cover BUT....

This cover is very well made, and does indeed look great. The leather gets marked up fairly easily, but it doesn't really detract from its looks-- each mark adds a bit of character. I think it offers good protection for the Kindle, such that I don't worry if it gets bumped around a bit.

My biggest complaint, though, is that it adds considerable bulk and weight to the Kindle. (Feels like it doubles the overall weight.) The first few times I tried it, I had to remove the cover before reading-- the Kindle felt so much lighter and more convenient without it. (I even considered returning the cover because of this.) However, after using it for a few weeks, I've gotten used to keeping the cover on, such that I don't notice the weight and/or mind as much anymore.

Overall, it is very well made, and looks great. -- Well made, but bulky

This distressed leather cover provided just the look I wanted for my Kindle. I combined it with the Quest Design Protective Decal Skin Sticker for Amazon Kindle 2 E-Book Reader (Version 2.0) and, together, they give my Kindle a sort of overall Old World look I like and that, in some ways, compensates me for the fact that I can no longer enjoy cover art in the same way I could with printed books. (I am a relatively new Kindle user and am still dealing with printed book withdrawal - cut me some slack.)

Pros: Rugged appearance; thick & sturdy construction; folds back completely; clip-in system holds Kindle securely, particularly with additional strap in bottom, right-hand corner; inside pocket is the perfect size to hold my airline boarding passes (no more fumbling about as I try to remember what 'easy-to-get-at-but-secure' place I stashed them).

Cons: High price; cover definitely muffles sound if you're utilizing the text to speech feature (IMHO, if this is a feature you use regularly, this may not be the cover for you); does not fasten in closed position for extra protection. WARNING: I set a warm cup down of the top of this cover for about 30 seconds. It left a permanent ring mark in the leather. To me, that adds to the distressed look, but I imagine it would not hold that same appeal for others. ;-)

This is a beautiful vintage leather case for your Kindle. Others have explained the aged appearance of the leather case, and you will either love it or hate it. The only thing that keeps me from rating this 5 stars is the price. This is exactly the case that I was looking for and after thinking long and hard about the cost, I went ahead and got it for my new Kindle.
