Have to admit to a bit of vanity too: I commute from a northern suburb into Manhattan every day. This evening's train was sprouting Kindles every few seats. Not a one of them but had the black cover.
Ha! (Oddly, Ipads have yet to sprout so effusively.)

And a bit of respect: I've been adding books to my Dx for a long time now and I have a deep, deep respect for the bulk of them. They deserved a better cover and now they have it.

This cover is really really nice. When you hold it or look at it - it makes an impression of an old book that was passed on to you over the generations in your family. Can never guess that between its covers you may find a device containing a whole library or books, as well as functioning web browser and a lot more.

The side clip that fits into Kindle side slots and the elastic corner retainer keep your DX secure in it place.

One thing you have to realize though, is that Kindle DX is a fairly large device and this cover makes it even larger, thicker and heavier. It is perfectly fine for us, since most of the reading in our family will be done at home. But, if you plan on taking this thing with you a lot - the whole Kindle + Cover combo might be a but cumbersome and heavy to carry and read. Unless you have some place to set it on - your hands will soon get tired from holding the whole thing.
