User Reviews about Solo Classic Collection Laptop Portfolio
This same bag design has been in my possession for at least 4 years (when it was called US Luggage) and used extensively. Only now are the zippers really beginning to give out. This is essentially a mobile-office solution for those that need to take everything with them.
Pros: It fits a 17" laptop just snug if you remove the silly interior padding, and has enough pockets to store all your business or portable tech related accessories that a messenger bag simply can't hold. It's doubtful one will take advantage of them all. The smaller flaps in the back provide great space for documents, folders, notepads or even books. The forward pouch has enough pockets and space to store just about any tech or business related accessory you can think of - large mice, AC adapters, cables, digital cameras, writing utensils... The smaller front pouch is an easy-access place for smaller digital devices and miscellaneous items - medication, smaller cables, etc. The stitching and quality are excellent, and best of all, even if you pack it to the gills, it still fits under the front seat of a jetliner like a glove.
Cons: It tilts over with ease - its biggest and most frustrating trait. Once you holster the bag with a 9 pound laptop inside, the shape begins to skew. The zippers for the laptop pouch get hung up at the corners as the material gets softer from wear. The excessive pockets, although welcomed, make it easy to lose things. The far back and lower zipper opens on it's own if you rub it while the bag is shouldered. It's a little heavier, which is to be expected for a leather case this size. The thin black material at the bottom peels off and gets on everything.
The Solo Classic is a great adoption for those who are willing to tolerate a few flaws for the sake of a bigger solution that holds just about everything you can throw at it. -- A Respectable Laptop Bag - With an Angle
Nicely put together and it has just about everything you could want in a professional computer bag. The only problem is that the manufacturer claims it fits my computer, a Dell 9300 with 15 inch screen, but it is an extremely tight fit if you want to put it into the space that's set up for it and offers the most protection for your laptop. I eventually got it in there, and the pocket stretched over time, but it took a while, and it's still a bit tight. -- Good bag, just one little flaw . . .
I bought this case to carry a 17" laptop. It's working out great. Seems to be a good quality leather case. Lots of compartments. Small pockets for CD's, ink pens, ect. Came with a shoulder strap. No complaints. I like it. One month old. I carry it to work almost every day. -- Great Case
Very practical luggage with minor modifications it will improve. Suggestion for each large pocket install two zippers instead of one. -- For two of the pockets two zippers are better than one, like old NY luggage.
This product works very well for me and is quite durable. I have found it handles my daily caseload well including laptop and accessories. The only drawback I see is the overall bulk which I guess goes with the concept of carrying your office in a bag. Thanks. -- US luggage briefcase
